It is November 1st so that means the race is on for the Deland Fall Festival of the Arts. The entry deadline for the West Volusia Homeschool Exhibit is just 9 days away! There are no restrictions on medium or style. The topic is simply "Deland". Your students are encouraged to interpret or topic anyway they please.
I will be accepting 2D and 3D works. If there are special display needs (over sized, over weight, unique hanging needs, etc.) please give me advance notice so I can plan the display accordingly.
The 17th Annual Deland Fall Festival of the Arts will be held on November 21st and 22nd. In past years, the Artisan has hosted the Youth Art Exhibit. This year we have a new display space in the Thomas C. Kelly Administrative Center on Indiana. Youth Art will be displayed in the Rotunda of the Administrative Center and will provide us with more space, better light and better air conditioning!
Get your students working on these projects and contact me for pick-up/drop-off arrangements.

Deland Fall Festival of Art
I know it seems early but the beginning of the school year means that it is once again planning time for the Youth Art Exhibit at the Deland Fall Festival of Art. If you wish to get in on the planning please head over to our discussion board and join in! This will be the fourth year West Volusia Homeschoolers have displayed in the show. The past two years one of our students have placed!
The Youth Art Exhibit is a juried show with four judging categories. (K through 2nd, 3rd through 5th, 6th through 8th and 9th through 12th) Entry in the West Volusia Homeschooers exhibit is due to me in mid November and must meet the theme and size requirements that will be decided on at a later date. Pre-jurying will only take place if space on the display is an issue. Entry is only open to WEST Volusia students of LEGAL SCHOOL age. Grade level is to be determined based on the traditional school track. (What grade they would be in if they were in PS) If you are unsure what constitutes WEST Volusia or LEGAL SCHOOL age please contact me and I will help you figure it out.

Recycled Mosaics
