I DID IT!!!!

I have been trying to work up the courage to re-head my drum for 3 weeks now. Every time I talk myself out of it. Part of the problem was that I am totally in love with how the mylar head looks. It's sound on the other hand....well, not so much.

I finally got rid of the incessant ting with a dampener. Unfortunately, that just made the plastic sound when my hand hit the head more apparent. Tonight must have been the night because here I am at 12:15 in the morning having just finished putting on the new head. The true test will be when I tune it tommorrow. I will say, though, that I already like the way it sounds now more than I did before!

Of course now I smell like wet goat. For the record, wet goat is not a sexy smell!!!
